smelly flower (xianghua), chiffon

Before being able to assemble my jacket in its entirety, I had one piece left to finish--a layer of chiffon with a scallop detail...



I don't have a machine to do a merrow edge, so I burned the edges of this polyester chiffon to prevent fraying (and to keep the edge clean)



I thought of using a stencil or doing a burn-out, but after some debate in the use of materials and time, I decided to free paint (again...) the design in an shimmery, ivory Jacquard Lumiere paint.
