Touhou Project: Hakurei Reimu 02

touhou project cosplay - hakurei reimu 02Often teased by fans because of the way she's dressed, Reimu's main abilities include flying in the sky, good intuition, and getting along with everyone, even those who were once her enemies. She is characterized in the games by her homing amulets and yin-yang orbs. She is also featured in the games wherein ZUN is involved, notably Seihou: Shuushou Gyoku as one of the Extra Bosses and in Graffiti Kingdom as "Flying Maiden".

Cute cosplayer from Winter Comiket 2009! It appears I have more in my inbox then I originally thought. Thanks to SnooPeas for the photo!

River Island Boots - buyers review

This week I helped a friend in the US get a pair of the River Island Double Eyelet Boots, since they do not ship outside the UK.
Here are his views and comments now he has received them.
Thanks to a particularly awesome UK based member here, my pair of River Island double eyelet boots arrived today. If anybody was on the fence about getting a pair of these, I’d say go for it.

The pictures warranted the ridiculously overpriced Tom Baker socks.

Once you get the strangely oversized tongue tucked in place, they’re incredibly comfortable. They’re made with a nicely broken in predistressed leather, so they’re soft from the minute you take them out of the box. I'm not particularly planning on doing an 11 costume, but the boots look so cool I had to get a pair. In my opinion these are way better looking than the All Saints boots, and the sole is rubber with some really nice grips, so no slipping.

I like just about everything about them, except they only look good with tight pants, which contradicts the recent switch I made to never wearing tight pants again, haha. I’ll just have to find a compromise.

ComicGum Ikki Tousen Great Guardians: Unchou Kan'u

Another installment for the ComicGum Ikki Tousen Great Guardians set featuring Unchou Kan'u.

Of course I saved the best for last. If you want to see everything, this is the figure for you. If there is a figure of her for sale, you can be she has been placed in just about any position possible. She seems to have a hard time keeping her clothes from getting destroyed. She is suppose to be the most feared of the
Toushi as she wields the Blue Dragon Crest Blade and sword Kusanagi.

Like some of the other figures in this set, she is shown in full motion. Flowing long hair and her Blue Dragon Crest Blade in hand ready for battle. Like a lot of the other figures, her face is not her best feature. I could of actually removed the skirt from the figure as it did come off, but need to keep it in taste - what?

Fruits Basket: Honda Tohru and Souma Yuki

fruits basket cosplay - honda tohru and souma yuki

There is a distinct difference between the manga and the anime of Fruits Basket; the anime shows a romantic relationship between Yuki and Tohru while the manga shows Yuki realizing his love for Tohru was more of a longing for the love of a mother.

To be perfectly honest, I prefer this pairing than Kyo and Tohru. It just seemed so perfect. You can imagine my disappointment when the final few manga volumes were released, but I guess you can't always get what you want.

At least Cherokee sent me this cosplay right? Featuring *Kanasaiii as Tohru and ~solano1984 as Yuki. Thanks also to their photographer, ~BanditYinG for the wonderful job well done!

smelly flower (xianghua), jaketto

As mentioned in the previous post, I'm not a fan of scalloped edges. And as I mentioned also, there are pretty much only scalloped edges in this costume... especially on the jacket. Sigh.

(the front scallops haven't been cut yet)

I didn't realize that it took me an hour to do the scalloping on one sleeve (cutting, ironing, pinning, more ironing...), and it wasn't exactly perfect for me. I now felt a little intimidated by the front edges of the jacket, because the scallops are so fine and the shapes, a little more irregular.

Luckily, I found this at the fabric store!!!

Thank you Aleene, again, you have made my life easier. No fray glue! So what if it took me an hour to cut the scalloped edges? I don't have to bind them. I would rather apply this glue to my raw edge any day than bind off these edges!

Though, it is too bad I didn't pick up this glue before I singed the edges from my chiffon overlay.

Thanks Thea for the link.

I just discovered that I was featured on a Pinoy Cosplay blog...of which the blogger is a friend of Alodia.

I was a picture of the day last January...my picture as Monkey D. Luffy.

Final Fantasy X Lulu Cosplayers

I was never a big Final Fantasy Gamer as I never had a PlayStation to play it on. I did watch the Advent Children anime and loved the characters (not to mention the effects).

I have always had a spot in my heart for Cosplayers that were a mix of Goth/Steampunk. As far as I am concerned, Lulu from Final Fantasy X fits the bill (but whats up with that doll?).

Lets take a look now at some Cosplayers I found that did a good job on her elaborate costume. Any favorites out of this nice little group - mine is Jonetsu!
